Marshall Joos is a 16 year old junior. He began taking piano in 2nd grade. When a new lady came to his church and beautifully played the organ, his interest was piqued with the King of Instruments. In 2014, he auditioned and was given a scholarship from the Young Organist Collaborative to begin studying the organ. Since then, he has won numerous organ competitions, both locally and regionally. He has performed around New England, most notably at Methuen Memorial Music Hall (Methuen, MA), Merrill Auditorium (Portland, ME), and Old West Church (Boston, MA). He is scheduled to perform at Trinity Church Wall Street (New York, NY) this fall for their Pipes at One recital series. Marshall competed and was the first runner up in the 2019 Portsmouth Symphony’s Concerto Competition. Marshall currently studies piano under Mary Beck and organ under Christian Lane of Boston Organ Studio. He enjoys composing, reading, researching technology and cars, and spoiling his dog, Sandy. He regularly plays both piano and organ for Heritage Baptist Church in Dover, NH, and sings in both the adult and teen choirs.
