2024-2025 Up Close & Personal with the PSO @ Jimmy’s Series
Join the Portsmouth Brass Quintet for an entertaining juxtaposition of theatre and jazz. The quintet will pay tribute to the Broadway musicals Chicago and A Chorus Line, ahead of their fiftieth anniversaries. They will close the first half with a suite of music from Kurt Weill’s jazz-influenced Threepenny Opera. The second half will feature American jazz tunes from the early twentieth century. Selections will include 12th Street Rag, When the Saints Go Marching In, It Don’t Mean a Thing, and Ain’t Misbehavin’.
Optional dinner service is available starting at 5 pm, performance starts at 6 pm. There will be a meet & greet with PSO Music Director John Page at 5:30 PM.
The PSO Brass Quintet is comprised of Adam Gallant, trumpet; Greg Bechtold, trumpet; Orlando Pandolfi, horn; Brandon Newbould, trombone; and Michael Marrone, tuba.
