2024-2025 Up Close & Personal with the PSO @ Jimmy’s Series
Join clarinetist Santiago Baena Flórez and members of the PSO string section in a night of Colombian music featuring two suites by composers Jose Revelo Burbano and Alfredo Mejía Vallejo. The suites were commissioned by Baena Flórez in 2016 as part of a grant from the Colombian Ministry of Culture. They reflect on the traditional Andean style of music that is common in Colombia, often referred to as “the land of a thousand rhythms.”
Optional dinner service is available starting at 5:00pm; performance starts at 6:00pm. There will be a meet & greet with PSO Music Director John Page at 5:30pm.
